Dr. Judith Chambers is an international expert in business development and public and corporate relations with specialized expertise in the areas of agriculture, health and biotechnology. She holds a Ph.D. in genetics from the University of Pennsylvania and her scientific expertise includes knowledge of both medical and agricultural biotechnology as well as technical issues related to HIV/AIDs. She most recently served as Director of International Government Relations for Monsanto Company with geographic responsibility for Africa. In that role she provided strategic direction to the business team on issues management, government affairs, public affairs and business development approaches. Her contacts included interaction with ministers, heads of state and senior scientific officials and with senior officials in the U.S. government. In her previous position with the U.S. Agency for International Development, Dr. Chambers served as the agency’s senior advisor on agricultural biotechnology and was responsible for programming approximately $20 million in grants to a variety of countries as well as helping to formulate US government policy related to technology transfer and development for biotechnology. She has participated in a number of US government inter-agency committees focused on policy issues related to science and technology transfer to developing nations and is a well known speaker on international biotechnology and agricultural development issues.
