Richard Crichton is an international trade consultant with over 40 years of trade experience with U.S. Customs. During his career, Mr. Crichton worked as an Import Specialist, an International Trade Manager, and a Branch Chief, providing guidance and technical assistance on commercial importations, primarily textile and apparel products. Most recently, he participated in negotiations on Free Trade Agreements with Chile, Singapore, Bahrain, Central American Countries (CAFTA), Dominican Republic, Panama, the South African Customs Union (SACU), and the Andean Countries. He assisted in drafting regulations for Customs field offices on textile issues related to Free Trade Agreements, the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), the Caribbean Basin Trade and Promotion Act (CBTPA), and the Andean Trade Promotion and Drug Eradication Act (ATPDEA). He also provided training for U.S. Customs officers, foreign government officials, and trade associations regarding implementation and enforcement of various Trade Agreements.
